William is a prominent international speaker and has authored numerous papers on all aspects of Orthognathic surgery. He’s also co-authored Facial and Dental Planning for Orthodontists and Oral Surgeons.
It was great to share my thoughts with him on combining dental surgery with lingual orthodontic treatment. This cutting edge treatment is being pioneered by myself and Mr Dylan Murray, Consultant Plastic Surgeon. This is an exciting new approach, and only available from myself in Ireland.
Dr Arnett’s view on taking a holistic approach to the face is in keeping with my own. Its vital that we look at the face in it’s ‘entirety’ and not just focus in on the jaws and teeth. That is yesterday’s approach.
The orthodontic treatment of the future will be dictated to by the overall aesthetic of the face. Thats how I see orthodontic treatment, and I like to think that most patients have the same view.
